2015 World Cup final to be played on artificial turf

Vancouver’s B.C. Place Stadium was just named the site of FIFA’s 2015 Women’s World Cup final. It will be the first World Cup final played on artificial turf.

It didn’t take long for reactions to start flying in, but one in particular raised some eyebrows.

US women’s national team star Abby Wambach is clearly not pleased with the decision to play games on turf. And she isn’t the only one to speak out. Teammate Carli Lloyd wasn’t shy about her feelings either.
