Jose Mourinho writes moving open letter to his son

Jose Mourinho might be one of the most polarizing figures in soccer, but one side we don’t see enough of is Jose, the father.

His 14-year-old son, Jose Mario Jr., has been sitting a few rows behind the Chelsea manager for every game this season, and has even been called “a little assistant” by Mourinho. On several occasions, you could see them celebrate a big goal together in the stands. Obviously, that wasn’t the case on Sunday, but for the Blues’ final home game Mourinho still found a way to connect with his son. In the final matchday program of the season, Mourinho included a heartfelt open letter to Jose Jr.:

I know this space is to communicate with you fans, but one of you is my son. I want to tell him thanks for being with me every second of every match, a few metres behind me, jumping for every goal; hurt by every difficult moment. Thank you, kid, for being my kid. Every time I look at you, I see you, but I also see your sister and your mum, both at home but also playing with us, both waiting for us to go home and to be what we are - an amazing family… like the blue family, supporting each other.

D’aww.

Diego Maradona takes swipe at former son-in-law Sergio Aguero

image

You always hear stories about nightmarish in-laws, but what if your former father-in-law is Diego Maradona?

Not a good situation, but it’s the position Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero finds himself in. And he certainly isn’t in Maradona’s good graces.

After a four-year marriage, Aguero and Maradona’s daughter, Giannina, called it quits, and it seems that things were less-than-amicable.

Speaking with Argentine radio, Diego called Aguero a “wimp, who I don’t even want to name.”

For his part, Aguero took the high road when responding to the comments via Facebook:

"It was always clear to me that Benjamin (son) was above everything. I was never, ever okay with my personal life being out in the public eye. This is why I spoke to those close to me, and advised that they refrain from making comments. "

Aguero added: “I never spoke in these topics before. This is the first and last time. I hope everyone understands.

"For everyone’s own good and well-being, especially Ben, we need to resolve this in an amicable manner. This is what’s worked for me so far, no need to change it up."

In the spirit of Valentines Day, we bring you this lovely clip straight from Latin America where Damian Diaz scored an absolute laser to help give Ecuador’s Barcelona a 2-2 draw against Nacional.

Diaz’s celebration however made headlines around the world as the Argentine striker sealed his goal celebration by locking lips with, wait for it, wait for it, his mother!

Yeah, we said it, his mother!

Though we can’t confirm based on the video footage, there’s no official word if tongues were exchanged during their wire fence smooch-fest.

Paul Ince was a cool, relaxed player relaxed during his hay day. But you’d figure that “the Guvnor” would get fired up after his son’s goal for England’s U21 team, right?

Guess again.

Unlike Clair Ince, the former Manchester United great sat unimpressed after their son, Tom, scored for England’s U21 team against Sweden.
