Indecisive Everton fan gets 10 players’ names on back of jersey

imageImage via Twitter/@IndyFootball

When it comes to purchasing a new football jersey, it always comes down to one critical question: which player do you get on the back?

Do you play it safe and go with the captain or the star, at risk of blending in with the crowd? Do you pick the brand-new signing or the promising talent, not knowing how long he’ll stick around for? Is it kosher to get the goalkeeper, but on the regular kit?

How about… all of them!

As one Everton fan has proven, you no longer need to settle on just one player. This revolutionary kit features - count ‘em - TEN names on the back, from key stars Leighton Baines and Ross Barkley, to goalie Tim Howard and new record signing Romelu Lukaku. They’re all there!

It’s a pretty ingenious tactic, though we are forced to subtract some points for shortening Phil Jagielka’s name to ‘Pjags.’

Also, how’d you like to be club legend Leon Osman or last season’s PFA Team of the Year member Seamus Coleman right now? Neither are even among this fan’s top ten Toffees. Rough!

Class act: Spanish 3rd division team dresses to the nines for charity match

Cultural Leonesa, a Spanish 3rd division team, turned some heads when they unveiled their dapper new kits: tuxedo shirts.

But now, we’ve finally gotten a chance to see the high-class gear in action and it is every bit the fashion statement we were hoping for.

Check out some video highlights of the penguin suits in action, especially the goalie’s stylish and sharp white tux.

The team wore the uniform as part of a charity match to benefit the local mining industry and celebrate the club’s 90th year.

Although, someone must have forgotten to tell the competition that it was a black tie affair.

Bayern Munich present new away kit featuring Dutch flag?

image

Bayern Munich revealed their new away kits for the upcoming season on Friday, and while undeniably sharp, they do have a rather peculiar look to them.

The red and blue horizontal stripes across the white shirt draw strong comparisons to the Dutch flag!

What, did Arjen Robben design these? Is former Bayern manager Louis van Gaal somehow going to take the credit?

Real Madrid to wear hot pink away kits next season

Real Madrid revealed their new kits for the 2014/15 season via Twitter on Monday, and they’re certain to raise some eyebrows.

While Real’s home kits remain traditionally white, the away kit is all PINK everything. And not just any pink — hot pink!

Earlier Monday, everyone’s go-to kit blog Todo Sobre Camisetas leaked images of the flashy new uniforms:

Real might want to back order these bad boys right now! You just know the shirts will be flying off the shelves, especially those with the number ‘7’ on the back.

Here’s a sneak peek at what Cristiano Ronaldo might look like in action next year:

Arsenal fan saves some money on Ozil jersey

image

Image: @mrjohnfriend

Mesut Ozil’s move to the Emirates has Arsenal fans equally ecstatic and perplexed over Arsene Wenger’s sudden willingness to splash the cash. Ozil became the most expensive Gunner of all-time after Wenger & Co forked over $66 million to Real Madrid for the German, more than twice as much as Arsenal paid to get Jose Antonio Reyes in 2004 ($27 million).

However, some Arsenal fans clearly still value Wenger’s tendency to go the cheap route. One Gooner fan found an easy way to turn his old Arsenal kit into a brand-spanking new Ozil jersey, “on a free.” And he didn’t even forget the umlaut!

Brilliant stuff, mate.

Dortmund Unveils New Kit Using More Than 80,000 Flowers

imageKit releases are typically pretty straight-forward: A club will take a few photos of the jersey, release a small glimpse every few weeks, then has an official unveiling, revealing the new, shiny piece of fabric.

But Borussia Dortmund is not your typical club. They decided to mix things up, and pulled a jersey PR-stunt unlike anything we’ve ever seen.

In a park near Dortmund’s home stadium, the club used 80,483 flowers to form a massive version of the kit, only visible from high above ground.

Check out the photo below to get a sense of the scale.
