Sevilla awarded their weight in beer for winning the Europa League

What good is winning a trophy if you don’t have anything to celebrate with? Well, luckily for Sevilla, their sponsor Cruzcampo came up with a great solution: give the players beer. LOTS of beer.

So Cruzcampo honored the team by giving each first team player his weight in beer. This is certainly one of the more unique ways to give away free booze.

Some of the players even showed up wearing a few extra accessories to add just a little bit more to their weight. You can’t blame them for trying.

Manchester United face double blow

It never rains but it pours for David Moyes at Manchester United! Last year’s Premier League champions find themselves seventh in the table and a huge 11 points off the summit.

United’s hopes of boosting their roster during the mid-season window have been severely dented with the news Ivan Rakitic has reportedly snubbed interest from the club. If that wasn’t enough, they are facing a fresh fight to keep star forward Wayne Rooney. The England international is considering whether the Red Devils are still the right for him with 18 months remaining on his contract.

Spurs to buy big again in January

A 6-0 defeat does little for the moral of any side, and so it’s expected that Premier League outfit Tottenham will dip into the January transfer market when the window opens.

Despite an outlay of well over $100m - mainly thanks to the record-breaking sale of Gareth Bale - in the summer, Spurs have struggled to set the world alight, and so have Sevilla winger Diego Perotti high on their transfer targets.

You can find out about this rumor and many more in today’s Paper Chase.

Double dealing for Manchester City

Manchester City has been quiet so far in the transfer window but that could all be about to change with rumors circulating that both Fiorentina striker Stevan Jovetic and Sevilla forward Alvaro Negredo are close to moving to the Etihad Stadium. We’ve also got the latest gossip on Luis Suarez and Wayne Rooney all at the click of a button.

Ever since he helped out Cristiano Ronaldo with his sprinting technique when the Portuguese striker was at Manchester United, the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, has expressed a wish to play for the Red Devils.

Some within the club even reciprocate his wish, with defender Rio Ferdinand leading the clamor for Bolt to pull on a red shirt and turn out for the Premier League champions.

Well finally, we and Rio are gonna get our wish!

That’s right. Usain Bolt will apparently take his place alongside United’s current greats in Rio’s testimonial against Sevilla on August 9.

It must have taken a lot for Rio to convince new boss David Moyes to sign Bolt up for one game only, but it will certainly put all eyes on Old Trafford to see whether Bolt’s soccer skills can match his sprint speed.
