Inter’s Juan Jesus offers to trade places with critical fan

imageInter Milan is struggling in Serie A. Heading into the season with high expectations, the Nerrazzuri have instead fallen to 10th place and their faithful fans are getting restless.

Trying to lighten the mood, vice captain Juan Jesus took to Twitter during the international break and offered all 122,000 of his followers a virtual hug, saying “Whatever happens, we are always together. A hug to you.”

Yeah, that didn’t go over too well.

According to Football Italia, one fan was apparently so irate by the defender’s words that he fired back, “Whatever happens you always take your salary!! Wake up!! You need to win.”

Juan Jesus hit back, writing “you’ve always got money on your mind. It’s easy for you to say, I’d like to see you on the field.”

The fan demanded a “different attitude” and the Brazilian became irritated. “How about we swap places. I’ll give you my wages and you live my life (training, travel, games). According to you we do things for a laugh.

“You don’t know how much I suffer to lose even if it’s to half a goal. So do this: ensure that you do everything you can as a supporter and we’ll do our part on the pitch.”

*Raises hand*

Yeah, umm, Juan?

We would like to trade places with you. Like, whenever you want.

Let us know.

Fiorentina score pair of screamers against struggling Inter Milan

imageInter Milan had ambitious goals for the new season, but their poor form continued this weekend with a loss at Fiorentina.

Khouma Babacar started the fireworks in the seventh minute with this audacious long-range strike:

And because it is so fun to score on Inter right now, La Viola teammate Juan Cuadrado added a second golazo just 12 minutes later:

Inter would concede a third, less spectacular goal in the second half to drop their second match in a row. They currently sit in 10th place in Serie A, already ten points behind first-place Juventus.

Fiorentina, meanwhile, jumped Inter in the tables for 9th, putting an end to their own slow start.

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci scores stunning winner vs Roma

Juventus and Roma, Serie A’s top two undefeated teams, clashed on Sunday in what proved to be a wild spectacle. The first half ended 2-2 after three penalty kicks were awarded and converted. In the second, both sides were desperate to find a winner to gain some separation at the summit.

That’s when, in the 86th minute, Leonardo Bonucci showed up:

Game, blouses.

Welcome to the ’80s: Denim is the new team color for Napoli

Serie A team Napoli has decided to take a stab at high fashion in their latest kit design.

We’re just not sure what decade we’re in.

Take a look at the denim themed kits.

And yes, those are shirts AND shorts in what appears to be simulated blue jean fabric.

Look closely: are those fake denim seams?

Napoli unveiled the design as one of their alternate kits, branding it as ‘Perfect Denim.’

This is a scare tactic for their opponents, right?

Francesco Totti trolls new teammate Ashley Cole

Remember the Roma team picture from last week featuring an isolated Ashley Cole looking like an outcast?

The picture made the rounds last week on social media, inspiring a meme and even its own Twitter handle, @LurkingAshley.

Cole himself couldn’t help but laugh at himself:

Now, Roma captain Francesco Totti has provided the icing on the cake.

For the squad’s latest team photo (on the Rocky Steps, no less), Totti deliberately “pulled an Ashley” and stood off to the side. Check it out:

Totti. What a legend!

Andrea Pirlo looks a little worse for wear at the Scudetto bus parade

imageWake up, Andrea!  (Image via 101GG)

Juventus had their bus parade on Sunday to celebrate a third straight Serie A championship, and it seems as though one particular, bearded midfielder may have had one too many libations along the way!

Check it out:

Oh, Andrea!

Since the parade fell on the eve of his birthday (Pirlo turned 35 on Monday), maybe we should give him a pass. After all, it is his birthday week! Long hair, don’t care!

Juventus clinch Serie A title without even playing

What was already a forgone conclusion was etched in stone Sunday: Juventus won their third straight, and 30th overall, Serie A championship. And they weren’t even playing!

While Juve likely would have clinched the title on Monday with a win against Atalanta, second-placed Roma, who were 8 points back with three to play, surprisingly did the business for them with a heavy 4-1 defeat at Catania, the second-worst team in the league.

Juventus’ players were watching the Roma game from a hotel, and while title celebrations are no doubt more fun on the pitch, they showed they can have quite the decent time in a conference room as well:

Andrea Pirlo’s shades over everything:

Miralem Pjanic leaves half of Milan in his wake en route to solo golazo

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic turned in a late candidate for goal of the season Friday night, scoring on a scintillating solo run against AC Milan.

With the score at 0-0 in the first half, the Bosnian star took matters in his own hands, splitting the entire Rossoneri defense as if they were merely cones on the practice pitch:

Milan’s defenders then proceeded to search for their dignity for the rest of the match, which they would lose 2-0.

Tiziano Crudeli goes Tiziano Crudeli after Balotelli, Taarabt score for AC Milan

No one will ever confuse Italian TV commentator Tiziano Crudeli as a straight shooter. And frankly, we don’t care.

Crudeli, an avid AC Milan supporter, lost his marbles on live television after Mario Balotelli and Adel Taarabt helped the Rossoneri capture their fifth straight win by defeating Livorno 3-0 on Saturday. Take a listen:

Despite the result, Milan face an uphill climb after a subpar start to their Serie A campaign. The Italian giants remain five points behind city rivals Inter Milan in Serie A to secure a Europa League spot.

Just don’t tell Crudelli.
