EA Sports’ FIFA 15 for XBOX One and Playstation 4 brings a new dimension of realism to the beautiful game. Electronic Arts pulled out all the stops to make this year’s game one to remember.
First thing’s first: The visuals on the new consoles are stunning. Getting into a match is breathtaking, beginning with an aerial view of the host stadium before taking the user to pitch level with the fans chanting and players coming out of the tunnel. During the match, as play goes on, footprints appear on the grass where players have been stepping, just another sense of realism brought in by EA. The corner flags are now part of the game play too, bending down as players run into them.
Gone is the slow game play of its predecessor FIFA 14. FIFA 15 bring a lot more pace to the game, enabling you to hit your opponent with a swift counter-attack or rush back to make a last-ditch clearance off of your opponent’s feet.
Passing is much quicker this year around. As quickly as you can counter attack, build-up play is just as similar. Ping-pong passing up the pitch is still doable, but the faster the ball glides up the pitch, the harder it is to control.
Long balls cannot just be heaved up-field and expected to conveniently fall to a player’s feet. Accuracy is paramount with the right amount of power behind the pass to ensure your striker can bring it down in his stride.
