Germany’s Per Mertesacker raps ‘Ice Ice Baby’ in mash-up remix

Germany’s performance left a lot to be desired in their Round of 16 triumph over Algeria and defender Per Mertesacker was obviously feeling the heat in his post-match interview. His grumpy reaction has since been given a brilliant rap remix.

Mertesacker and his teammates came in for a lot of criticism after victory, and the lanky German snapped at a one reporter.

‘What do you want from me? We’re in the last-8,’ he said.

Before adding: ‘I’m going to lie in the ice-bath for three days!’

German website, 11Freunde, saw their chance and remixed his interview with Vanilla Ice classic ’Ice Ice Baby’. Check it out:

Man Utd keep tabs on Astori, Vidal


A newspaper today reports that Manchester United manager David Moyes was pictured watching Cagliari defender Davide Astori and Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal over the weekend. The Red Devils bounced back from three straight defeats with victory over Swansea at Old Trafford and now Moyes can turn his attention to reinforcements.

Manchester United continue to be linked with all the world-class midfielders in world soccer. The latest name to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan. One newspaper says that the Red Devils will have to pay £24 million to prise the player away from Germany. David Moyes is desperate for midfield reinforcements and this rumor might not be too far wide of the mark.

Liverpool look to Blues defender


Chelsea have a wealth of defenders at Stamford Bridge and Jose Mourinho may look to offload a few in the transfer window. Mourinho has frozen Ashley Cole out of the starting 11, preferring Cesar Azpilicueta on the left-hand side of defense.

Arsenal chase Everton’s Coleman


Arsenal are searching for a replacement right-back if Bacary Sagna refuses to renew his contract at the club. Arsene Wenger is looking to Everton’s young defender Seamus Coleman as the possible solution.
