Newcastle United’s holiday party looked fun

Newcastle’s first team held their annual Christmas party on Sunday, and luckily Sammy Ameobi took plenty of pictures.

Fresh off a tremendous win against the defending Premier League champions Man United, the team decided to let loose and dress up like it’s Halloween, with plenty of superheros, cross-sport stars, and even a Chewbacca in attendance. Ameobi is the teenage mutant ninja turtle, but we can’t quite make out who everyone else is. Maybe you can?

Take a look:

Well, we do know who this one is. Looks like Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa had a rough night!

Soccer stars get into the Halloween mood

Halloween is just a couple days away, and if you haven’t figured out a costume yet, well, you’re in luck.

Several soccer stars have already revealed what they’re being for the spookiest day of the year, and perhaps they can serve as inspiration for you.

Want to scare your friends silly? Just take a look at New England Revolution striker Juan Agudelo’s creepy outfit. As you can see by Charlie Davies’ reaction, this will do the trick (no pun intended):

Looking for something more pop culture related? Leave it to USA stars Alex Morgan and Sydney Leroux — who else? — to show you what’s hot in the streets right now:

Hilarious choice, but that twerk still looks like it could use some work, Alex. I mean Miley.

Of course, you can always go the vintage Halloween route. Check out Robin van Persie as Count Dracula! Too bad RVP didn’t strip on a Luis Suarez jersey along with it, that would have been truly epic.

The trend that keeps on giving: The Harlem Shake.

This time, Champions League contenders Juventus went to extreme lengths with Arturo Vidal doing his best to imitate King Arthur’s dance moves, while ex-United player Paul Pogba flashed his Zorro skills for the entire world to see. As for Alessandro Matri, well, we’ll let you judge his Dragon Ball Z act.

Sadly, we don’t expect this internet meme to stop anytime soon.
