Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson show off sandwich-making skills

Who makes a better $5 Footlong: Daniel Sturridge or Jordan Henderson?

We finally found the answer to this powerful life question after the two Liverpool stars faced off in a sandwich-making competition at a Boston Subway. Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Jim Corsi served as the judge, and had to choose between Henderson’s rather simple chicken parmesan and Sturridge’s bizarre steak and meatball concoction.

Paddy Power brings David Moyes statue to Anfield, Liverpool promptly lose

The pranksters over at betting site Paddy Power were at it again this weekend, erecting a fake David Moyes statue at Anfield ahead of Liverpool’s title showdown against Chelsea.

Fans gleefully flocked to the statue to take pictures with the “Liverpool legend,” who led arch rivals Man United to their worst finish in the Premier League era, and played a small part in the Reds’ ascendancy this season.

But what started out as a clever joke turned into something dark and sinister by game’s end. Chelsea ran out 2-0 winners, handing Liverpool their first league loss in 2014 and taking away the Reds’ control of the title race.

The Curse of Moyes? It’s very much in play.

Michael Owen trolled by Reds in Liverpool return

Poor Michael Owen. Some folks have no respect for the elderly, no respect at all!

The former Reds legend went back to Anfield Road to take part in Easter Monday’s Hillsborough charity game, and walked into the dressing room to this:

Luis Suarez shows his nice-guy side

Liverpool star Luis Suarez hasn’t always had the best behavior on the pitch, but Monday he proved that even he can be charming.

According to Reddit user benjibean, his 7-year-old cousin, who has Down Syndrome, was playing in the park with a Liverpool ball when a man came over and took the ball off his cousin.

It turns out that man was indeed Luis Suarez.

Suarez then kicked around with the boy, even letting the youngster nutmeg him. Not many people get to say they’ve nutmegged a footballing super star!

Not only will the child have this wonderful memory, it is immortalized in a truly precious photo. Whatever your opinion of Suarez may be, it’s hard not to smile looking at it.

Luis Suarez scores brace on Premier League return

Luis Suarez scored a brace on his Premier League return to lead Liverpool past winless Sunderland on Sunday. Suarez linked up with Daniel Sturridge on both goals after having served his 10-match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic in the arm.

On the Uruguayan’s first, Sturridge dribbled past two men on the right wing and delivered a low cross into the box, which Suarez met perfectly for the goal. Turning away to celebrate, Suarez revealed his undershirt welcoming his new son into the world. Benjamin, the striker’s second child, was born on Thursday.

Suarez completed his brace late in the second half on a brilliant counterattack. Receiving Simon Mignolet’s quick toss, Suarez lobbed the ball across the field to Sturridge, who got around a defender and played it back to the wide-open Uruguayan at the far post. It was Liverpool’s first second-half goal of the season.

The performance should recall memories of last season’s prolific partnership between the Suarez and Sturridge following the latter’s transfer from Chelsea last winter. With Suarez now back in the side, Liverpool look even better than ever during their surprise start.
