Sam Allerdyce all smiles after embarrassing loss

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce hasn’t had a lot to smile about recently, but his spirits seemed remarkably high after a brutal 5-0 FA Cup loss at the hands of Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Allardyce, whose side also sits second from bottom in the Premier League, might want to wipe that smirk off his face. The 13th highest paid manager in the world (no, seriously) might not have a job if West Ham’s atrocious form keeps up.

Meanwhile, Hammers supporters weren’t quite as content:

Look what you’ve done, Sam.

Ravel Morrison scores best training goal perhaps ever

West Ham striker and England under-21 international Ravel Morrison scored a stupendous goal during England practice last week. Though he wasn’t facing any defenders, Morrison receives 100 points for this acrobatic back-heel volley.

Tabbed as one of the most promising up-and-coming English players today, Morrison will be hard-pressed to come up with something more spectacular in a real game. The 20-year-old has five goals in 12 appearances for the Hammers this season, and two goals in three games with the U-21 Three Lions.

Andy Carroll accused of leaving his Liverpool mansion in tatters

West Ham striker Andy Carroll is being sued for almost £200,000 over claims that he left his Merseyside mansion in awful condition upon leaving Liverpool this summer. Among the citations include an infested swimming pool and numerous stains on furniture.

From the Daily Mail:

The 24-year-old striker is said to have left drinks stains on chairs and the ceiling, removed expensive hi-fi equipment and furniture - including treadmills, sofas and a grandfather clock - and caused the 12-metre swimming pool to be infested with algae. Other damaged items allegedly include a barbecue, a garden lounger and an air hockey table.

Landlords Jeff and Dawn Grant also claim that Carroll owes £68,000 in unpaid rent for the five-bed mansion in Blundellsands, Merseyside.

Oof. Not a good look, Andy.

Then again, neither was this. Or this:

I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised.

Premier League Table - with only English players’ goals

Image via Opta

This table takes a look at what the Premier League landscape would look like if only goals from English players counted.

Thanks to English-born Rickie Lambert and his 14 goals, the currently 12th placed Saints would find themselves atop the table. Conversely, Manchester City would see a 31 point drop in a fall from 2nd place to 13th.

What’s the biggest takeaway from this?

The Simpsons show wrong West Ham United colors

Call it a D’oh moment.

The Hammers became the first Premier League club to appear on the popular American animated series. Yet, there was one small problem - the club’s colors were off. Way off.

In the episode titled “‘The Day The Earth Stood Cool,” West Ham’s flag is colored green and not the club’s traditional claret and blue.

Despite the oversight, the Premier League club didn’t seem bothered by the error. “West Ham United were delighted to be featured in The Simpsons episode ‘The Day The Earth Stood Cool’ on Sunday!” the club said in the statement.

The Simpsons have broadcasted over 500 episodes in its 24 year run.
