No bluff: Ronaldo challenges Rafael Nadal to a live poker showdown

Brazilian soccer icon Ronaldo has thrown down the gauntlet in a poker duel against Rafael Nadal.

If that sounds completely random, fear not. The two stars actually squared off head-to-head in last year’s European Poker Tour Prague Charity Challenge, which raised nearly $130,000.

The 14-time Grand Slam champ emerged victorious in the first meeting at the tables, and Rafa isn’t short on confidence heading into his next challenge:

"… one year later I’m more confident with my skill level. I really enjoy playing poker and the challenge of learning as quickly as possible, so I can’t wait to get back into training on my game," Nadal said, via the Daily Mail.

But “Il Fenomeno” isn’t backing down despite Nadal already having bested him, saying, “This time it will be different, though, because I have been improving on my poker strategy and will be more prepared.”

PokerStars.com are putting on the event, which will broadcast live on Sept. 22.

Lionel Messi and Roger Federer star in bizarre Gillette commercial

Roger Federer as a sumo wrestler? Lionel Messi as a cricket player?

We’re not exactly sure what is going on here either, but anytime you have two of the greatest sportsmen of our time in the same commercial it’s a must-watch. Unfortunately, it doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic plays tennis against Novak Djokovic

We don’t need to tell you that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is a man of many talents. In fact, there’s nothing Zlatan is not good at (except for losing). But it might shock you to find that his tennis game on Saturday transcended his footie skills.

Ibra was in attendance to watch the former World No. 1 Novak Djokovic beat Roger Federer in the semifinals of the Paris Masters, and after the match, Djokovic naturally invited Paris’ biggest star onto the court for a little rally.

The two of them hit the ball back and forth a bit to the delight of the crowd, and Ibra showed off an impressive forehand. But when the Djoker suddenly opted to use his feet, Zlatan incredibly shanked the ball wide after a clumsy volley. This is probably the only time you will ever see Ibrahmovic fail at ball-kicking, so watch closely:

If you thought Maria Sharapova was a one-trick pony think again. The four-time Grand Slam tennis champion showed her talents with an impressive 10-minute keepy-uppy session on practice court 16 at Wimbledon. Game, set and match Sharapova we reckon.

Ah, the one and only Diego Armando Maradona.

The Argentine legend was spotted at the Dubai Tennis Championships earlier this week and met former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki. After a long, grueling match, the ex-champ chatted up with Maradona for some Q&A’s and “friendly” photo shots.

Always the sly dog, Maradona couldn’t take his hands off the Danish sensation. For the record,  Diego’s long-time partner, Veronica Ojeda, was nowhere in sight.

Federer shows off his footy skills

Roger Federer is not only a world-class tennis player, but the man has some pretty decent footy skills too.

The tennis star showed off his soccer footwork — dressed in a full Brazil kit — before a match against Tommy Haas in Sao Paulo. Federer and Haas knocked around an oversized tennis ball prior to their match, a part of the Gillette Federer Tour.

Federer also met Brazilian legend Pele, who tweeted out this picture of the two.

What a cool moment between two sports legends!
