Swansea to fight off Russian interest in Michu

The transfer window may have shut in most of Europe but it remains open for one more day in Russia. Anzhi Makhachkala have been undergoing some personnel changes in the last few months. Samuel Eto’o, Willian, Lassana Diarra and Lacina Traore all left the club as part of a clear-out, but they are looking to recruit again. Swansea striker Michu, who is recovering from a hamstring injury, has been linked with a move to Anzhi but the Swans will resist such a bid.

Deadline day falls apart because wife goes into labor

Swansea defender Neil Taylor could have taken a seat on Fulham’s bench today were it not for the birth of his second child!

Taylor was reportedly on the cusp of a move to the Cottagers ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline when his wife unexpectedly went into labor mid-afternoon. As if the workings of deadline day weren’t already complicated enough, this personal matter understandably scratched any hopes of sealing the deal.

Fulham were said to be desperate to sign the left back, tabling an offer of around $6.5 million. And Taylor, who has struggled to get minutes under Michael Laudrup since returning from a lengthy injury spell, would probably have welcomed a move to London as well. Alas, it looks like divine intervention was at play here.

Why is Swansea defender Rangel driving this truly ugly jeep?

Most clubs have training ground challenges, but the players at Swansea have taken them to a new level with the punishment for losing.

Near the end of the last 2013, the team revealed the story behind their crossbar challenge:

The jeep started as just pink, but we can see now after more than a month of new crossbar challenge losers adding to it, it’s become one of the ugliest vehicles imaginable.

Courtesy: Angel Rangel

Defender Angel Rangel is the challenge’s most recent loser, and posted a photo to his Instagram page to show off his new wheels for the week.

Some of the additions? Neon-colored rims, purple and pink butterflies, and more. By the end of the season, this whip probably won’t even be street legal.

Training Ground Collision Leaves Dirk Kuyt a Mess

Dirk Kuyt must have legions of female fans across the world who appreciate his stunning good looks, but they might want to reconsider following a training ground run-in with Dutch teammate Jonathan De Guzman. And by run-in we mean it was like two derailed trains smashing into one another.

Training prior to the Dutch side’s friendly against Portugal this week, the players collided head-on during a drill, making both miss the friendly and perhaps even their club teams’ next match. Poor Dirk Kuyt looks like he came away from it a little worse:
