Bayern Munich mascot Berni is excited about the Super Bowl

image

Almost everything that Bayern Munich’s cuddly mascot Berni does is fantastic. He’s a pretty adventurous bear, too. He’s tried sand-boarding, dirt biking, and even the Gangnam Style dance.

So what else will Berni set out to conquer? American sports, of course.

With the Super Bowl coming up on Sunday, Berni tried his paw at tossing around the pigskin. A for effort, big man.

USWNT players make their Super Bowl XLVIII picks

The United States women’s national team is getting ready to take on Canada in the “Battle for the Border” (live, Friday,  FOX Sports 1, 9 p.m. ET), but the ladies know that the biggest “football” game this weekend happens two days later: Super Bowl XLVIII.

In the spirit of the big game, several of the players offered us their picks or rooting interest. Seattle Reign players Hope Solo and Sydney Leroux predictably both favor the Seahawks, while Abby Wambach and head coach Tom Sermanni are among those going with the Broncos.

Overall, Denver was the clear-cut favorite among the “panel,” garnering eight votes to Seattle’s three.

Joe Hart takes a shot at (American) Football

If this whole world-class goalkeeper thing doesn’t work out for Manchester City keeper Joe Hart, he may have a future at wide receiver.

City is in the United States for their two friendly matches against Chelsea, as well as representing the club new MLS venture New York City FC.

Between their training and public appearances, the club stops by the New York Giants training facilities to visit and got a chance to catch some passes from Super Bowl winning quarterback Eli Manning. Hart, England’s number one keeper in front of goals, shows off some pretty shaky route running, but reaffirms that he has very capable hands. James Milner also makes an appearance by catching a post route pass from Manning and then quickly sees his life flash before his eyes as a Giants player puts himself in position for a tackle.

Here’s a full length video of the visit. Heck, you can even hear some Giants players tell our football heroes, “I play with you all the time in FIFA.”
