Ghana star Muntari hands out money to disadvantaged Brazilians

While Ghana’s efforts in holding World Cup favorites Germany to a draw in the group stages has granted them ‘hero’ status on the pitch, their recent excursions off the pitch deserve even more recognition.

After being given special permission from national team manager Kwesi Appiah, Ghana and AC Milan star Sulley Muntari was seen handing out money to one of Brazil’s poorest communities.

Muntari, a key fixture in the Black Stars side, also signed autographs and posed for photos in the Maceio neighborhood.

While Brazil’s hosting of the World Cup has come under question due to the rife poverty throughout the country, the efforts of Muntari and those alike will hopefully go towards highlighting one of the country’s biggest problems.

Thumbs up, Sulley!

Mario Balotelli was booked during AC Milan’s win against Torino over the weekend…by teammate Sulley Muntari.

Balotelli took his jersey off while celebrating his game-winner in the 84th minute, and as everyone who plays the game knows, that’s an automatic yellow card. So, Muntari he decided to have a little fun with it and grab the card out of the referee’s hand and card his teammate himself!

The ref gave a wry smile, but, being all super official-y, showed Balotelli the yellow once more for good measure.

AC Milan sends Barca to shocking 2-0 defeat

AC Milan shocked the soccer world with an impressive 2-0 home win against Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.

After a scoreless first half, Kevin Prince Boateng opened the scoring after the referee missed a Cristian Zapata handball deflection.

Later it was Sulley Muntari who capped it off for Milan with this wonderfully worked goal. Stephan El Shaarawy with a clever trap and lobbed pass over to Muntari, who slotted home past Victor Valdes.

Amazingly, Muntari and Boateng were once teammates at League One side Portsmouth. Today, they’re instrumental in beating almighty Barcelona!
