Brazil manager forbids ‘acrobatic’ sex during World Cup

Every World Cup, it becomes the talking point amongst players and media members. No, not starting lineups or formations, weather or field conditions. Sex.

Yes, the idea of players bringing their girlfriends or wives along to the world’s biggest tournament has been ‘hotly’ debated for decades. Could they be a distraction to the players, perhaps even “tire” them out ahead of the games? Or would a little “stress relief” actually be beneficial? You know, clear the mind among other things. These are excellent questions that every national team manager has had to address.

As the host nation, Brazil is facing the most pressure to perform this summer, so sex was naturally one of the topics manager Luiz Felipe Scolari had to answer recently. And he gave a fantastic answer:

“The players can have normal sex during the World Cup. Usually normal sex is done in balanced way, but there are certain forms, certain ways and others who do acrobatics. And that, no,” Scolari replied at a press conference in Lisbon on Monday.

"We will put limits and survey the players.”

So close the Kama Sutra, Thiago Silva. No diving in the bedroom, Neymar. Rules are rules.

Brazil legend Rivaldo retires from football

image

Rivaldo, one of the greatest midfielders of our generation and a living Brazilian legend, announced his retirement from football via Instagram Saturday:image

During his 24-year career, Rivaldo won the 2002 World Cup, the 2003 Champions League with AC Milan, and two La Liga titles with Barcelona, among many other accolades. He received the Ballon d’Or in 1999 and was voted into two World Cup all-star teams (1998 and 2002).

We invite you now to join us and take a moment to reminisce on Rivaldo’s brilliance. Perhaps his greatest goal came in 2001, on the final day of the La Liga season. Barcelona needed to beat Valencia in order to qualify for next year’s Champions League. Two minutes from time, with the match tied 2-2, Rivaldo stepped up:

And if that’s not enough for you, here are a lot more Rivaldo highlights:

Tchau, legend!

Little boy interrupts Brazil friendly, Neymar handles introductions

image

D’awww!

At the end of Brazil’s 5-0 friendly win against South Africa in Johannesburg, a little boy ran onto the pitch looking to greet his idols, and sure enough, he got that chance! Despite security’s efforts to retrieve the “pitch invader,” Neymar ran over to the boy, picked him up, and introduced him to the entire team.

It’s precisely moments like this that give soccer its reputation as “The Beautiful Game.”

Nike releases Brazil’s World Cup kit

The moment every Brazilian has been waiting for is finally here: the release of the Selecao’s World Cup kit.

You’re not going to believe this, but it’s yellow and green, with blue shorts and white socks:

image

The only notable difference from past shirts is the subtle V-neck look, though techies can nerd out over Nike’s use of 3D body-scanning. The torsos of every member of the Brazilian squad were measured to produce custom-fit shirts. Obviously regular folk won’t receive that benefit, but Nike’s best-selling international jersey is still set to make a killing, especially within the World Cup host country.

Brazil’s manager Luiz Felipe Scolari said, “The shirt looks great, the only thing missing is a sixth star. We aim to have that on there after the World Cup.”

…and then everyone will need to buy the updated kit.

Puma haunts Brazilians with “Ghost of 1950” in Rio de Janeiro

Brazil last hosted a World Cup in 1950, and it was one that ended in unmitigated disaster for El Selecao.

Facing Uruguay in the final in front of 200,000 plus at Maracana Stadium, Brazil let a 1-0 lead slip away in what is considered one of the biggest upsets in football history. The memory haunts Brazilians to this day, and Puma is apparently looking to keep it that way.

In a brilliant piece of marketing, Uruguay’s official kit sponsor sent “The Ghost of 1950” (“El Fantasma del 50”) to Rio de Janeiro to remind Brazilians of their national nightmare. In the TV spot, you’ll find a couple fantastic shots of the ghost scaring the beejezus out of beach-goers and pedestrians.

All in good fun, unless Brazil suffer another heart-breaking loss to Los Charruas.

Brazilian TV measures Hulk’s bum; it’s bigger than we thought

image

During the Confederations Cup, social media was all abuzz over Brazilian forward Hulk. No, not because of his name, or his tendency to blow chance after chance, but because of his “hulky” behind!

After many fans, reporters and even players pointed out that Hulk might possibly have the biggest bum in sports, Brazilian TV show “Esquenta” took up the case, convincing the burly forward to have his heinie measured on live television.

Turns out, we totally undersold the magnitude of this man’s backside.

The circumference of Hulk’s buttocks measured an astounding 43.7 inches. To put that into proper context, Hulk beats out Brazil’s current “Miss BumBum,” Andressa Urach, by a full 4 inches! You can see a comparison below:

David Luiz and Thiago Silva baby look-alikes are blowing up on twitter

image

image

Can you see the startling resemblance?

This picture of two unknown little guys has been making the rounds on social media today, and it’s not hard to see why: the two boys look exactly like min-versions of the formidable duo in Brazil’s central defense: David Luiz and Thiago Silva!

Sure, Luiz is an easy call; you could practically take any little kid with Sideshow Bob hair and make the connection to the Chelsea man. But what about Silva? The facial expression of “baby Thiago” is absolutely on point!

Even Ronaldo circulated the picture on Twitter today:
