Check out this cool teaser video put together by mutd.com promoting a charity match involving former Manchester United and Real Madrid legends, to be played in early June at Old Trafford. Several of United’s past stars are seen gearing up for the big fight, interestingly set to the tune of Monday Night Football.

So who’ll be showing up to this classic? For United, how about Edwin van der Sar, Bryan Robson, Lee Sharpe, Denis Irwin, Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham and Jaap Stam. How does that sound? Oh yeah, and Paul Scholes will be joining the party as well for one last run-out.

Real Madrid meanwhile, plan to field the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Steve McManaman, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Fernando Redondo, Fernando Hierro and Claude Makelele.

To put it lightly, this should be quite the treat!

Chelsea, United in CR7 bidding war

It wasn’t too long ago that Cristiano Ronaldo left Manchester United for a mind-blowing £80 million. If the rumors are true, he could be on the move again. It will take similar money for Real Madrid to part with their main man, who has bagged an incredible 55 goals already this season!

Today’s rumor is that Ronaldo is set to leave La Liga and travel back to the Premier League. Chelsea and Manchester United are ready to start a bidding war for the Portuguese international.

David Moyes to raid Everton for duo?

image

So, Sir Alex Ferguson has left Manchester United and in comes David Moyes as his successor. A new manager means fresh faces and new ideas. Moyes will be reluctant to change the whole landscape at Old Trafford, however a couple of quality additions may be in the offing.

Brendan Rodgers raided his old club for Joe Allen last summer and Moyes looks set to do similar. Arguably the two best players at Everton (Moyes’ old club) are left-back Leighton Baines and goalscoring midfielder Marouane Fellaini. According to today’s tabloids in the UK, the new Red Devils boss will look to take them with him after the season finishes.

The knock-on effect of these arrivals could be more interesting. Wayne Rooney is reportedly unhappy and the addition of Fellaini would push him further down the pecking order - and potentially out of the club. Baines’ arrival would no doubt leave Patrice Evra wondering whether he will get game time next season.

RvP not switching numbers so fans don’t have to buy new kit

image

Robin van Persie can do no wrong. He was recently given the offer to switch his jersey number and wear the #9 kit for Manchester United next season, but he has turned it down. Why?

He told the United Review:

“I don’t want to be harsh on the fans who have number 20 on their kit. I don’t want them to have to buy a new shirt.”

Kudos to RVP for thinking of the fans first!

“Telepathic” is how many pundits described the legendary striker partnership between Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, who in three seasons (1998-2001) combined for a whopping 123 goals with Manchester United.

Yorke and Cole reunited for this video, where they challenge United’s current strikers Wayne Rooney, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, and Danny Welbeck to replicate their telepathic connection on the soccer field by wearing blindfolds in drills!

This short video is really fun to watch, and Rooney steals the show late when he one-times a Welbeck cross and smashes it right into the top corner!
