With the 2012-13 Premier League season coming to a close, we review the top ten goals that made our heads swirl through the season.

In reality, there were too many to count this past season. Though we had to leave some out the list, strikes like Robin van Persie’s beauty to seal Manchester United’s Premier League title against Aston Villa or Gareth Bale’s magical strike versus West Ham come to mind.

OK, so we’ll stop and let you relive the best goals for yourself.

It all comes down to Sunday

Remaining fixtures (all on Sunday, May 19):

Chelsea vs. Everton
Newcastle vs. Arsenal
Tottenham vs. Sunderland

With the title won and relegation decided, the final day of the Premier League has one battle to focus on: the fight for Champions League spots.

Unless Tottenham win by double digits, Chelsea are in, even if they lose. The real race is between Arsenal and Spurs.

Tottenham have to win, and then need a helping hand from Newcastle. It is possible for the Gunners to secure their spot with a draw as long as Tottenham also lose or draw, but a victory over the Toon would put them into the top four no matter what Spurs do.

Premier League relegation battle

image

With 2 weeks remaining, there are still 10 Premier League teams that can be mathematically relegated to the npower Championship. To say that every game left on the team’s schedule is a must-win would be a drastic understatement.

Here are just a few of the matches that could be the difference between survival and relegation:

  • 5/7: Wigan vs Swansea City
  • 5/12: QPR vs Newcastle
  • 5/12: Southampton vs Sunderland
  • 5/19: Wigan vs Aston Villa

Newcastle fan fights police horse

How far is this fan violence going to go? After Sunderland’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle this weekend, the fans went wild. A total of 29 people were arrested after the match. In one of the more foolish maneuvers of the weekend, this man decides to take out his frustrations on a police horse.

Stupid. Just stupid.

UPDATE: The horse that was attacked is safe, well, and back in its stable.
