Sir Alex Ferguson is retiring. Who will replace him?

image

After Sir Alex Ferguson officially announced his retirement at the end of the season, everyone, depending on if you are a United fan or not, was thinking one of two things:

Non-United fans: “FINALLY!! WE HAVE A CHANCE NOW!”

United fans: “Who on God’s green earth is going to replace the legend?!”

A hologram of Sir Alex would probably be United fans’ top choice, but since that is kind of tricky to pull off, check out our top candidates to take over at Manchester United.

“Telepathic” is how many pundits described the legendary striker partnership between Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole, who in three seasons (1998-2001) combined for a whopping 123 goals with Manchester United.

Yorke and Cole reunited for this video, where they challenge United’s current strikers Wayne Rooney, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, and Danny Welbeck to replicate their telepathic connection on the soccer field by wearing blindfolds in drills!

This short video is really fun to watch, and Rooney steals the show late when he one-times a Welbeck cross and smashes it right into the top corner!

Ryan Giggs scores for 23rd straight season!

You know the token “old guy” who shows up at your pick-up basketball games and still keeps up with everyone half his age? Soccer’s “old guy” is Ryan Giggs, and he’s not just playing pick-up, he’s still competing in the top soccer league in the world!

At a shade over 39 years old, Ryan Giggs improved on his own record today by scoring his first Premier League goal of the season, marking the 23rd straight season in which he’s scored at least once. It also makes Giggs the only player to have scored at least 1 goal in every single Premier League season since its inception in 1992-93.

There’s just one word for this kind of feat: legendary.

Sir Alex may be the worst Charades player of all time

This is a gem: Sir Alex and some Manchester United players took part in a good old fashioned game of charades for the MUTV channel, and Fergie seemed to get pretty frustrated with his teammates.

Being tasked with acting out Maradona’s “Hand of God” goal, Ferguson’s flailing hand gestures stumped his teammates far longer than it should have, prompting the legend manager to drop an F-bomb out of frustration! Much to the enjoyment of Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney on the opposing team.

Tottenham stunned Manchester United in Fergie time with a late goal from, who else, Red Devils killer Clint Dempsey!

Spurs made the title race just a little more interesting after Demps scored his 4th goal of 2013 (after just 3 in 2012 with Tottenham) in the very last minute of stoppage time. Some will question David de Gea’s weak clearance here, but in the end, the tie was well deserved after Spurs dominated the second half.
