Daniel Sturridge treats Liverpool kids to best day at school ever

Most days, the clock ticks far too slowly for kids in school. They can’t wait for the bell to ring, signaling freedom (at least until the next day). But for one class at Anfield Junior School, the second hand could have frozen and they wouldn’t have minded one bit.

Liverpool striker and funny guy Daniel Sturridge surprised a group of young kids, and the adorableness is overwhelming.

So kids, keep in mind that next time you go to school, Daniel Sturridge might show up and teach you how to dance (but probably not).

Luis Suarez shows his nice-guy side

Liverpool star Luis Suarez hasn’t always had the best behavior on the pitch, but Monday he proved that even he can be charming.

According to Reddit user benjibean, his 7-year-old cousin, who has Down Syndrome, was playing in the park with a Liverpool ball when a man came over and took the ball off his cousin.

It turns out that man was indeed Luis Suarez.

Suarez then kicked around with the boy, even letting the youngster nutmeg him. Not many people get to say they’ve nutmegged a footballing super star!

Not only will the child have this wonderful memory, it is immortalized in a truly precious photo. Whatever your opinion of Suarez may be, it’s hard not to smile looking at it.

According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Manchester City and Liverpool have been put on red alert after Valdes revealed he hopes for a transfer to a Premier League side.

Spurs to revive interest in winger

image

Wow, that was hectic! So another January transfer window comes to an end, but no need to worry, only another 364 days to go until the next one. £126 million ($207 million) was spent over January, breaking last year’s record of £120 million. Amazingly, a lot of the top Premier League clubs refrained from breaking the bank over the first month of the new year.

Liverpool missed out on one of their top targets on deadline day. A deal for Ukraine winger Yevhen Konoplyanka fell through at the last minute after Dnipro’s president refused to sign the paperwork. Saturday’s newspapers report that Tottenham will look to hijack interest from the Reds when the window reopens in the summer.

Chelsea consider Alonso raid

image

Jose Mourinho has confirmed over the last week that the door is open if Juan Mata and Michael Essien want to leave the club. The pair seem discontent at a bit-part this season and may leave in the next six months.

In Wednesday’s newspapers a possible replacement has been mentioned. Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso - who has already played in the Premier League with Liverpool - is interesting the Blues. The Spaniard is a free transfer in the summer and may be available on the cheap in the current transfer window.

Liverpool, Tottenham after Lille forward

image

Lille forward Solomon Kalou is reportedly growing tired of life in France and is eyeing up a move to a Premier League giant. Lille currently sit third in Ligue 1, only four points off top side Paris Saint-Germain. Lille have a real chance of winning the title, but Kalou may decide he wants to have another crack at the Premier League.

In Monday’s newspapers, Liverpool and Tottenham are eyeing up the Ivorian who left Stamford Bridge in July 2012.

Liverpool look to Blues defender

image

Chelsea have a wealth of defenders at Stamford Bridge and Jose Mourinho may look to offload a few in the transfer window. Mourinho has frozen Ashley Cole out of the starting 11, preferring Cesar Azpilicueta on the left-hand side of defense.

Today’s newspapers report that the Blues’ third-choice Ryan Bertrand could be on his way out the door. The likely destination is Merseyside, where both Liverpool and Everton are admirers of the 24-year-old.

Andre Wisdom gets lost on way to stadium, drives his Porsche straight into mud pit

imageimageImages via The Mirror

Liverpool player Andre Wisdom, currently on loan at Derby County, drove his $150,000+ Porsche straight into a mud pit after getting lost on his way to his own stadium.

There’s a bit of irony in his name, no? England’s Under-21 national team captain will likely be a great Premier League player some day, but he’ll never live this moment down.

Having just arrived to Derby a few weeks ago, Wisdom still didn’t quite know how to get to Pride Park from his hotel and decided to make use of his in-car navigation system. There was just one problem, though: the GPS led him down an ominously muddy road in the middle of nowhere. But rather than pulling over and seeking an alternative route — or perhaps coming up with the brilliant idea to call someone, anyone, at Derby to help him out — Wisdom stubbornly drove ahead, right into the pool of sludge.

At this point, Wisdom abandoned ship and called his club to come find him. Wisdom managed to get to his match on time, and the car was found hours later by a mountain biker.

Speaking with The Mirror, the biker said:

"To get to that point he would have to come through an equally muddy section - I have no idea what he was thinking. I just can’t believe he could have got that far to begin with, then to submerge it in that puddle."

"We are miles from any main road and the track doesn’t go anywhere, it’s just mind boggling how he ended up there."

Hilariously, this story is an obvious parallel to an episode of The Office, where Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute religiously follow their GPS straight into a lake:

Funny concept for a scripted television show. Even funnier when it happens in real life:
