The great Dane, Nicklas Bendtner, is at it again

In case you haven’t heard, Nicklas Bentner, Arsenal’s flighty striker, has had another run-in with the law after an alleged drunken incident with a cab driver in Copenhagen.

Now that Bendtner has gone from leading an attacking line to a walking punchline, it’s appropriate we take a look at the Dane’s more illustrious exploits, courtesy of the Daily Mail:

May 2009: He stumbled out a London nightclub with his jeans around his ankles just hours after Arsenal were denied a place in the 2009 Champions League final by Manchester United.

August 2009: Changed his shirt No from 26 to 52 – reportedly to reflect a new £52,000-a-week deal signed at the Emirates. A rumor Bendtner has since denied.

September 2009: Stripped down to his underwear after a high-speed crash in which he was fortunate to escape with his life. His £160,000 Aston Martin was a write-off.

February 2011: Split with his Danish royal fiancée Caroline Luel-Brockdorff, just seven weeks after she gave birth to their son.

December 2011: During his loan spell at Sunderland he was arrested for allegedly going on a £4,000 car-wrecking spree with Lee Cattermole. The charges were later dropped.

June 2012: Fined £80,000 and banned for one match after pulling down his shorts to reveal Paddy Power-branded underwear in a stupid publicity stunt while playing for Denmark at the European Championships in 2012.

March 2013: Banned from driving for three years and fined £100,000 for being over the legal drink-drive limit after he was spotted by police in Copenhagen driving against the traffic. Hit with a six-month playing ban by Denmark.

November 2013: Arrested on suspicion of criminal damage at his luxury apartment block.

Quite the rap sheet for someone purporting to be an adult. And yet, his most egregious offense, aside from the drunk driving, goes undocumented. Who in the world should be allowed to post selfies like this?:

We’ll just leave it at that.

Monaco players send hospitalized Falcao best wishes pre-match

While Zlatan Ibrahimovic is staying busy filming Volvo commercials, his Monaco rival Radamel Falcao remains in the hospital recovering from serious knee surgery. In their first match without him, the enitre Monaco team walked out donning T-shirts bearing Falcao’s face and the message “Fuerza Tigre.”

El Tigre, who according to his surgeon still has a chance to recover in time for the World Cup, quickly took to Instragram to show that he received and appreciated the message from his teammates, writing (translated) “From Porto watching the team, thank you for the strength you give me, I am here to give you mine!”

Willian reveals next move on Instagram

Highly-rated Anzhi midfielder Willian ended all speculation over his future by posting to his instagram Sunday morning. The caption read:

Meu sonho se tornou realidade!! Estou muito feliz por estar no melhor clube do mundo!! Obrigado Senhor por tudo. My dream came true!! Im very happy to sign with a best club in the world. Thanks God!! COME ON CHELSEA!!!

Chelsea have confirmed the signing as well. Willian’s £30m transfer is subject to a work permit hearing on Wednesday.

Willian recently underwent a medical at White Hart Lane in anticipation of a move to Tottenham just a few days ago, but Chelsea swooped in late to steal the Brazilian’s signature. On Friday, Jose Mourinho gave a slight, silent nod to the question if Willian had chosen the Blues over Spurs.

Sorry Tottenham, looks like you’ll need to go elsewhere to spend all that money you’re getting from Gareth Bale.

Belgian national team holds comfy movie night

The upstart Belgian national team just might be the quirkiest soccer bunch on social media.

Ahead of their friendly match against France, Romelu Lukaku posted this creative bit on Instagram, revealing how the players like to spend their free time in the hotel: That’s a lot of Belgians cuddling up in one bed. Wonder who the big spoons were. And who got to pet Fellaini’s hair.

Lukaku’s gem isn’t the first video from the Belgians that has been a bit hit on the internet. Earlier this month, Mousa Dembele posted this video featuring Spurs teammate Jan Vertonghen, who apparently doesn’t like sharing water:

A little random? Maybe, but Belgium’s national team is not only quickly becoming one of the world’s best teams, but also a bonafide comedy group.

Keep ‘em coming, Belgium!

Brek Shea posts - then quickly deletes - American instagram

'Murica giveth, and 'Murica taketh away.

Just minutes after posting this rather excessively patriotic picture on his instagram account, Stoke City’s Brek Shea perhaps realized that this might not be the best way to endear himself to potential employers - especially in Europe - and quickly deleted it.

What do people always say? You can take the kid out of Texas, but…

Hopefully this won’t come back to haunt Shea at his current club, where he hasn’t made an impact so far due to injury, but in the meantime maybe Brek should tone it down on the Instagram, because it isn’t the first time one of his pictures has caused an uproar.

Just a month ago, Shea’s picture of him sporting a pig’s head made the rounds as Stoke City players waged a prank war that got a little out of hand.

Sebastian Bassong’s ‘Instagun’ flap

He may have had an excellent season at Norwich in helping them avoid the Premier League drop, but defender Sebastien Bassong may have just landed himself a lot of trouble with some pictures he posted - and since deleted - on his Instagram account.

In the pictures, one can see Bassong holding a gun and readying himself to shoot it. Isn’t it about time these players had a bit of common sense about themselves?

The club have since released a statement confirming that the photos have been taken down, and also that the gun in the pictures is fake. Regardless, he should know better, surely.
