With the 2012-13 Premier League season coming to a close, we review the top ten goals that made our heads swirl through the season.
In reality, there were too many to count this past season. Though we had to leave some out the list, strikes like Robin van Persie’s beauty to seal Manchester United’s Premier League title against Aston Villa or Gareth Bale’s magical strike versus West Ham come to mind.
OK, so we’ll stop and let you relive the best goals for yourself.
With David Beckham’s career almost over, we thought it was only right to show you some of his best moments from his time in the U.S. He won the MLS Cup twice while playing with LA Galaxy, and scored 12 goals in 98 appearances for the West Coast club. Check it out!
We’re not sure if Juan Roman Riquelme meant to cross it or actually score this breathtaking goal, but we’re sure glad the 34-year old decided to come back out of recent retirement. And apparently, he also still enjoys running away from his teammates when celebrating.
Riquelme’s goal ended up being the difference for Boca Juniors, who got past Corinthians 2-1 on aggregate in the Copa Libertadores Round of 16.
Keep doing you Riquelme.
At the age of 38, David Beckham has announced he will retire at the end of the season.
There have been many wonderful moments in Beckham’s career. Is this Beckham’s greatest goal? England fans certainly thought so.

With the conclusion of what was a very memorable Europa League final (and really, the entire competition was the best it’s been in years) we present to you the top 10 goals of this year’s Europa League season!
Which one was your favorite?
What. A. Finish. Branislav Ivanovic rose higher than everyone else on Chelsea’s last-minute corner kick in stoppage time, and his arching header sailed past Benfica goalie Artur and into the back of the net for a dramatic, late, Europa League-winning goal.
Incredibly, Chelsea are now simultaneous Champions League and Europa League title holders. Congratulations!
Apparently it was a good weekend for long-distance strikes. First, we showed you Deportivo Quito’s fantastic goal from near midfield, but Evian’s Saber Khelifa one-upped that effort, scoring from deep within his OWN half!
Now that’s what we call pinpoint accuracy.
Frank Lampard broke Chelsea’s all-time scoring record today, scoring both goals in the Blues 2-1 win over Aston Villa, which all but clinched Chelsea a spot in next year’s Champions League.
Lampard’s first goal tied the game and matched him with Bobby Tambling’s record of 202 goals. Super Frank then did him one better with just two minutes to play, scoring the game-winner and breaking the record at the same time. Here’s what Lampard had to say after the game:
What a finish!
Porto’s Kelvin scored this wonderful goal in the 91st minute Saturday to beat Benfica 2-1 and unseat them at the top of the Primeira Liga with just one more match to play. It may very well have decided the title, as Porto (still undefeated in league play) can clinch with a win next weekend.
As the goal was struck, Benfica coach Jorge Jesus fell to his knees, knowing his team may have just blown the championship. Poor Benfica, but hey, at least they can grab some silverware on Wednesday, when they play Chelsea in the Europa League final (2p ET on FOX Soccer)
