Real Madrid full-kit pitch invader tries to blend in on corner kick

image

This is Cristiano Ronaldo. He played and scored against Fiorentina in Real Madrid’s 2-1 friendly loss on Saturday. He was subbed off at halftime, but somehow ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’ magically appeared back on the pitch in the 75th minute.

Okay, clearly that is not the Cristiano Ronaldo. It is a fan who thought himself clever by wearing a full kit, invading the pitch and trying to blend in on a Fiorentina corner kick. It actually worked pretty well as no one seemed to know what was going on or what to do.

He was pretty much was given free rein to walk wherever he pleased.

Security? Anybody? No? Okay then. Well played, sir.

Pitch invader takes halfway decent free kick

imageJust look at the form - and those kicks. Perfect. (Photo: Action Images)

Most pitch invaders storm the field in hopes of hugging their favorite player, or snapping selfies with as many stars as possible.

But on the opening day of the Premier League, one fan took a different route, and elected to show off his football skills. He saw the opportune moment as Spurs lined up to take a free kick and pounced with lightning quick speed.

Christian Eriksen looked just devastated that the strike didn’t go in. And to be honest, his ensuing free kick wasn’t any better than the pitch invader’s attempt.

Maybe Blackpool should consider giving the fan a call.

Clint Dempsey gives child his kit for a couple of handfuls of popcorn

Clint Dempsey played 89 minutes against the Houston Dynamo on Sunday night, and as expected, was a little bit hungry after the match ended. Where could the Seattle Sounders striker find himself some food?

Aha! The small child sitting field-side with the giant bucket of popcorn. Surely he’d want to share with the USA star, right?

Well, there had to be something for the little kid to get in return for his precious popcorn. Clint gratefully obliged:

So Dempsey gets a stomach full of popcorn, and the little boy gets a sweaty, game-worn (and absolutely priceless) jersey. Seems like a fair trade.

But for real Clint, you’re the man.

Fan throws impossibly accurate paper plane during England-Peru friendly

England beat Peru 3-0 on Friday at Wembley, with Daniel Sturridge scoring this beauty of a goal, but it wasn’t even close to the highlight of the match.

No, instead that honor goes to the fan who somehow managed to craft a paper airplane that was tossed from the upper deck AND HIT A PERU PLAYER. You have to see it to believe it:

That pinpoint accuracy is nearly unbelievable. The thrower must be the smartest luckiest fan in the world — England might want to consider taking him to Brazil as a good luck charm.

Disclaimer: We do not condone throwing things onto the pitch. But this is so insane it had to be seen.

Tiziano Crudeli goes Tiziano Crudeli after Balotelli, Taarabt score for AC Milan

No one will ever confuse Italian TV commentator Tiziano Crudeli as a straight shooter. And frankly, we don’t care.

Crudeli, an avid AC Milan supporter, lost his marbles on live television after Mario Balotelli and Adel Taarabt helped the Rossoneri capture their fifth straight win by defeating Livorno 3-0 on Saturday. Take a listen:

Despite the result, Milan face an uphill climb after a subpar start to their Serie A campaign. The Italian giants remain five points behind city rivals Inter Milan in Serie A to secure a Europa League spot.

Just don’t tell Crudelli.

Fan bares all to distract Diego Costa’s PK attempt against Getafe

Warning: The image and video below contain partial nudity.

Fans will go to extreme lengths to distract players on opposing teams, but this is one of the most shameless we’ve seen.

When Diego Costa stepped up to take a penalty kick for Atletico Madrid against Getafe on Sunday, one dedicated fan dropped trou in an attempt to throw Costa off.

It worked.

Iniesta ignores young pitch invader while she hugs him

We’re sure that Andres Iniesta normally loves the support of his fans, but when a young girl ran onto the field to hug her idol after Barcelona’s loss to Granada on Saturday, we can’t blame him for trying to brush her off.

Her timing was less than ideal: it was during a TV interview. After a loss. To a team that hasn’t defeated your club since 1972.

Come on, kiddo. Not cool.

You have to give her credit for her commitment to the hug. That girl has a death-grip on Iniesta’s waist. But was it worth the inevitable months of being grounded?

Luis Suarez shows his nice-guy side

Liverpool star Luis Suarez hasn’t always had the best behavior on the pitch, but Monday he proved that even he can be charming.

According to Reddit user benjibean, his 7-year-old cousin, who has Down Syndrome, was playing in the park with a Liverpool ball when a man came over and took the ball off his cousin.

It turns out that man was indeed Luis Suarez.

Suarez then kicked around with the boy, even letting the youngster nutmeg him. Not many people get to say they’ve nutmegged a footballing super star!

Not only will the child have this wonderful memory, it is immortalized in a truly precious photo. Whatever your opinion of Suarez may be, it’s hard not to smile looking at it.

Ronaldo treats fan who woke from coma listening to his games

imageImage via 101GG

Cristiano Ronaldo is at it again.

It was only last month that CR7 paid for a young fan’s brain surgery, and here he is producing yet another reason for why, regardless of your opinion of him, he deserves your respect and admiration.

Fourteen-year old Ronaldo fan Dawid Pawlaczyk was in a coma for three months after getting hit by a car, during which time his family had been playing Ronaldo’s matches for Dawid to listen to. In a magical coincidence, according to Yahoo, the boy finally woke up on the same day his favorite player shot Portugal past Sweden in the World Cup qualifying play-offs.

After Polish outlet Fakt contacted Ronaldo about the story, the selfless star immediately treated the boy and his family to a trip to Madrid for Real’s Champions League clash against Dortmund, even giving the boy his jersey after the game.

And so the legend of Cristiano Ronaldo grows a little more.
