Daniel Agger donates to help send Denmark team to Homeless World Cup

Denmark was trying to send a team to the Homeless World Cup, which kicks off in October in Chile, but had come up short 20,000 kroner (about $3,500). They team had already raised a lot of money, so new donors were hard to come by and time was running out.

In stepped Daniel Agger.

The Danish international asked an Ombold board member — the organization sending the Denmark team to the tournament — how things were going. When he found out they were in need of money to be able to fund the trip, Agger didn’t hesitate to tell them he’d give them the money.

"You just tell me where and when to spend the money; and also if there is anything else I can do," Agger said.

What a selfless and wonderful act, Mr. Agger.

Morten Nordstrand’s overhead kick vs FC Copenhagen

If you haven’t seen Morten Nordstrand’s epic bicycle kick goal for FC Nordsjaelland yet, you better watch this video on repeat for a while, just to make sure you take it all in.

It doesn’t get much better than this, folks. The long cross, the awkward angle Nordstrand had to take, the spin of the body - it all made for an even higher degree of difficulty, which will surely get some bonus points from the judges.

FC Copenhagen won its 10th Danish title over the weekend, and TV personality Peter Moller, a former Copenhagen striker, was caught right in the middle of the celebration!

A former teammate of his, Lars Jacobsen, spotted his old friend interviewing another Copenhagen player on the sidelines and apparently decided to chop Moller to the ground with a hurtling slide tackle that would make Gennaro Gattuso smile. The best part: everyone could see Jacobsen coming a mile away, but Moller still didn’t expect what was coming his way.

To his credit, Moller got right back up with a smile and tried to get back at Jacobsen with a little trip, despite failing miserably.
