Cesc Fabregas does the Macarena for Chelsea initiation, scores lovely goal

A longtime Chelsea tradition requires all new signings to perform a song in front of the entire team as part of their initiation.

This year, all eyes were on former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas. How would he try to win over his new teammates? With the Macarena, of course!

Too easy.

Following his little song and dance, Cesc then opened his goal-scoring account for the Stamford Bridge club, with quite an impressive strike to boot. Check out the Spaniard’s beautiful free kick vs. Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem:

We’re thinking that Cesc’s goals might help his status at Chelsea a bit more than his singing.

Soccer world reacts to sad news of Vilanova’s passing

As the soccer world mourns the loss of Tito Vilanova, numerous players, managers and clubs offered their condolences:

Balotelli, Reus, Fabregas and Henry star in new Puma commercial

To promote their highly anticipated evoPOWER boots, Puma produced this commercial which basically just involves Cesc Fabregas and Marco Reus destroying a bunch of stuff.

Cesc and Reus are both surrounded by teams of scientists as they test out their new cleats, which apparently provide them with enough power to shoot balls to the moon or through brick walls and stadium scoreboards (not to mention those silly targets). Meanwhile, Thierry Henry observes all the footage from an “undisclosed location,” seemingly impressed.

He then concludes that the powerful boot is ready for the game, and that it should be put to “the final test.” At this time, Mario Balotelli emerges as the final tester, but sadly — or mercifully — the ad comes to an end.

It should only be a matter of time, though, until we get to see what happens next (Prediction: Super Mario destroys a bunch of stuff).

Manchester United chase David Luiz

Manchester United are yet to make a meaningful breakthrough in the transfer market so far this season. Bids for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas, Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini have failed to materialize into transfers. The latest player to be linked with United is Chelsea defender David Luiz. The Brazilian doesn’t seem to fit into Jose Mourinho’s liking for defenders that stick to their position. If the Red Devils bid the reported £30 million, they would surely get their man.

Same old Barca: Players warm up with tiki-taka

Pep Guardiola may now ply his trade in Germany, but that doesn’t mean his tiki-taka has been lost on Barcelona. This Barca TV footage before the Catalans’ friendly against Malaysia shows the signature one-touch passing game that has been integral to Barcelona’s success in recent years.

After seeing this, Malaysia’s XI must have known what was coming for them. They lost the match 1-3. However, Barcelona also received some bad news, as MOTM Cesc Fabregas (goal and two assists) was forced off early with an injury.

United refuses to give up in fight to sign Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas may have told the world that he wants to stay at Barcelona, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped Manchester United from considering a third bid for the former Arsenal midfielder - according to one national newspaper. United have said they respect the wishes of the Spain international, but one paper thinks they haven’t given up. We’ve got the latest on the usual suspects in today’s edition of Paper Chase so click here for more.

Morata a makeweight in Bale deal?

Gareth Bale’s future is now looking decidedly towards Spain’s capital so Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is determined to extract the maximum gain from Real Madrid. Talk on the grapevine is that Spurs want new sensation Alvaro Morata in part-exchange as a makeweight in the deal. Morata was the top scorer at the recent European Under-21 Championship and the word is that Carlo Ancelotti is preparing to give him a run in the Real Madrid side this season. We’ve also got the latest rumors on Cesc Fabregas and David Luiz so click here for more.

Fabregas keen on Manchester United move

Barcelona may be telling the world that Cesc Fabregas is not for sale, but the player himself has apparently been telling some of his English friends that he would like a move to Manchester United. Those words should provide some encouragement to United boss David Moyes, although it seems like a long battle to sign the former Arsenal captain is on the horizon. More on this story and others involving Wayne Rooney and Roberto Soldado - all just a click away.

Arsenal launches audacious bid for Suarez

This is a story that refuses to go away and could continue to run and run if Arsenal continues its current transfer bidding policy. Proving that they have a sense of humor at the Emirates, the club has made an offer of just £1 over £40million - which triggered a key clause in Luis Suarez’s contract. This bold and downright cheeky strategy could work, then again it could just infuriate Liverpool. Other rumors for your viewing pleasure include the futures of Gareth Bale, Wayne Rooney and Cesc Fabregas all right here.
