Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid - Copa del Rey Final
Fabio Coentrao’s mistake on Saturday is almost too good to be true.
Coentrao took his place on the Real Madrid bench for the match against Espanyol, and on most days, there would be nothing unusual with that. But on Saturday, he wasn’t in the match-day squad.
Goalkeeper Iker Casillas gives Coentrao a double take, but even after he explains the situation to the Portugal defender it just doesn’t seem to sink in that he is not supposed to be there. Still mad about losing a fourth straight Ballon d’Or?
Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with a custom-made Ballon d’Or cake at the Portuguese national team’s training facility in Obidos, a sweet reminder that he’s still Number 1in the hearts of Portuguese bakers everywhere.

Today’s clash of the giants saw Real Madrid advance past United into the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
After United went in front thanks to an own goal, the complexion of the tie changed completely after Nani’s controversial red card (see below).
Moments later, Luka Modric claimed the goal of the day with this stunning strike off the inside of the post that tied the match at 1-1. Just minutes afterwards, Ronaldo (it had to be him) claimed the game-winner:
