Remaining matches that impact relegation:

5/14: Arsenal vs. Wigan

5/19: Wigan vs. Aston Villa; Tottenham vs. Sunderland

Heading into the final week of the Barclays Premier League, the final team relegated has yet to be determined. Following recent results Stoke, Norwich, Newcastle, Southampton, and Fulham have sealed their spots in the Premier League for next season.

All eyes will be on the match between Arsenal and Wigan on Tuesday. Arsenal is battling for a Champions League position and Wigan is fighting for survival. A Wigan loss will be a dagger in their campaign and would condemn them to the Championship next season.

If the Latics beat the Gunners, Sunday’s matchup between Wigan and Aston Villa could have Premier League life or death riding on it.

Patrice Evra mocks Luis Suarez, bites fake arm thrown on pitch

image
If you thought that Manchester United winning their 20th Premier League title would knock Luis Suarez out of the news, you were wrong. Once the Red Devils finished their destruction of Aston Villa to clinch the BPL title, the players broke into celebration. After a fan threw a fake arm onto the pitch, Patrice Evra played along and took a bite out of it.

Clearly, a metaphorical slap in the face to Luis Suarez, who set off the soccer world with his bite in Sunday’s game. For those that don’t recall, Luis Suarez was banned 8 matches in 2011 after he was found guilty of racially abusing Evra.

Fresh off of his fifth Premier League title with Manchester United, it would appear that Patrice Evra got the last laugh.

You can probably remember the most recent own goals in the Premier League. Fabian Delph for Aston Villa against Fulham this weekend? Matt Kilgallon for Sunderland away at Chelsea? Well, we can probably forgive them as a lapse in concentration or being very unlucky! This cannot be said for Utrecht player Mike Van Der Hoorn, who inexplicably put the ball in his own net under absolutely no pressure! The Eredivisie side were 3-0 down at the time to AZ Alkmaar, before Van Der Hoorn compounded their misery. Take a look…

The Barclays Premier League relegation battle continues to heat up, with Aston Villa grabbing a huge 3-2 victory over Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

QPR boss Harry Redknapp was at a loss to explain how his side had lost the game after missing several chances to go further in front against Villa.

The defeat leaves QPR rooted to the bottom of the table, seven points adrift of safety and Redknapp admits the result could have a big impact on their survival hopes.
