The UEFA Champions League quarterfinal stage begins on Tuesday with two amazing matchups for your viewing pleasure. Here are some interesting points to keep an eye on:
Paris Saint-Germain v Barcelona
The world’s newest “superteam” is set to take on Spanish giants Barcelona. Former Barca striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who recently had his suspension reduced by UEFA, will lead the PSG attack against Lionel Messi and company.
Leading Champions League scorers:
PSG – Ezequiel Lavezzi (5)
Barcelona – Lionel Messi (7)
Players to watch:
PSG – David Beckham; making his first Champions League appearance this season, starting in place of Marco Verratti.
Barcelona – Andres Iniesta; his form and passing ability will dictate Barcelona’s ability to break the PSG defense.
After his playing days are over, it seems that Andrea Pirlo already has an excellent second career lined up.
The Juventus star midfielder owns a vineyard in Northern Italy.
In the video above, Pirlo talks about his passion for wine, and that after his career he plans on spending more time at the vineyard. His lovely mother, Livia, also makes an appearance and talks about her son’s lifelong love of the delicious drink — accompanied by adorable pictures of him as a boy.
If the wine produced at Pirlo’s vineyard is even half as magnificent as his play in the midfield, we’re definitely going to need a bottle. Or two.
