The Rapids announced a spectacular return to their roots Tuesday (Image: Colorado Rapids)
It’s April 1st, so we all know to take every breaking news item with a huge grain of salt, right?
We certainly hope so, or there’s a good chance you were that person that frantically forwarded the following MLS stories along to friends and colleagues, along with an oblivious, “OMG! Have you seen THIS?”
Up first: Orlando City SC, who re-branded themselves the “Manatees” today:

#GoSeaCows, indeed. Who needs another sports team nicknamed “The Lions” anyways? Booooring.
With respects to Orlando SC, though, the Colorado Rapids easily emerged as the April Fools’ Day champions, announcing they would bring back the uniforms of the late NASL franchise Colorado Caribous. Yes, that’s right. Leather fringe and short shorts:

Alright, so those jokes were pretty good, albeit if rather transparent. Seriously, if you didn’t smell something fishy with those stories, well, there may not be any hope for you. In fact, you are probably the most gullible person alive.
HOWEVER, we would definitely be interested in a return of those Rapids kits, and we’re not the only ones:

Too bad. Joke’s on us!
