The Butterfly Effect, as popularized by the Hollywood motion picture, is an example of chaos theory that suggests how small initial differences could lead to large unforeseen consequences over time.

Esteghal’s Ando Teymourian is clearly an expert in such matters. Admittedly, there is nothing chaotic about this story, but it is one of the greater examples of karma we’ve seen.

Teymourian carried an injured butterfly off the pitch during his side’s AFC Champions League quarterfinal match, and just minutes later scored perhaps the goal of his life. Coincidence? We think not!

Teymourina’s goal proved to be the clincher for Esteghal, as they went on to win the tie 3-1 on aggregate and progress to the semi-finals. What a difference a small, noble act can make, eh?
