I’m sure we’ve all thought it at least once; Lionel Messi’s left foot is absolute gold. Well, clearly one Japanese jeweler took that point to the extreme…

This $5.25 million gold model of Leo’s left boot has been unveiled by Japanese jeweler Ginza Tanaka, a solid gold replica of the most expensive foot in sport.

The statue weighs 25 kilograms and was created to commemorate Messi’s incredible record-breaking 2012, in which he scored 91 goals throughout the calendar year. He claimed the Ballon d’Or too, but that’s no biggie for him.

Messi’s brother Rodrigo helped unveil the solid gold statue, which goes on sale for auction from March 7 to June 6, 2013. He’s got to be a little envious of his little brother, surely?!

Ginza Tanaka has agreed to donate a portion of any sale to Messi’s foundation, helping those affected by the tsunami and earthquake disaster that hit Japan in 2011.

Pretty cool, right?!
