Fake Twitter account sends Pepe Reina to Arsenal

What do you get when the biggest rumor filled day clashes with the Twitter universe? Madness.
Utter and complete madness, that’s what.
Stunning reports surfaced on Thursday night sending Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina to Arsenal. Many scoured to find the transfer rumor’s validity, FOX Soccer included, only to confirm that the supposed Twitter account of Martin Samuel, the same guy who’s bashed the winter transfer window for years, was a fake Twitter account.
Good grief.
Samuel’s supposed account stated: “BREAKING NEWS: Sources at Melwood have confirmed #Liverpool have accepted a bid for Jose Reina from #Arsenal. An amazing development #LFC.”

Earlier this month, Reina’s father expressed a desire to see him return to Barcelona as current Barca goalkeeper Victor Valdes is set to leave the Camp Nou.
The owner of the Twitter account, Gareth David, admitted to the hoax later in tweets.
Evening guys. I’m not Martin Samuel (It said that in my profile). I thought I’d have a bit of fun with #transferdeadlineday

It’s a ridiculous football day and I wanted to see how many legit football outlets I could trick into tweeting about or running the story.
